民国初年，袁世凯为复辟，派人去少林寺抢夺“金刚经”，以罗锐为首的四名少林武僧，为保护“真经”逃离寺院，袁党一路追杀，将罗锐的三名兄弟杀害，罗锐走投无路，只好和袁党一伙决一死战。罗锐的武功非常出色，尤其腿功了得，其气质也异常冷峻，与李小龙颇为近似。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
