几个好友在难得的假期相约一起来到了海边狂欢。夜晚派对后的几人仍不尽兴，想着第二天去海上冲浪。第二日，几人借了店家的摩托艇在大海上飞驰冲浪。一个意外，两辆摩托艇不幸地撞在了一起，这导致其中一个朋友腿部受伤。鲜血流入海中，浓重的血腥味引来了一只凶残的鲨鱼。为了活下去，众人想尽办法，却还是未能免于落入鲨鱼之口。眼看只剩受伤的汤姆以及女友纳特，纳特拼尽全力，修好了唯一一辆摩托艇，但由于两人太沉，摩托艇无法带两人逃离。关键时候，汤姆以身诱鲨，最终，纳特独自一人逃出生天。。The film is a dramatic re-enactment of real-life events that took place in 1968 in the small village of San Miguel Canoa in Puebla, México.
